Directions to Downcourt Manor Farm

From Fishbourne terminal (Portsmouth to Fishbourne)

On disembarking turn right out of the terminal. Turn right at traffic lights and follow signs to Newport. At Newport keep to left on one-way system and take road signposted for Sandown. After nearly 2 miles take turning on right signposted Godshill.(just past Scats the country shop on the right). After 1.5 miles, at Rookley, fork right towards Chale and Niton. Stay on this road for nearly 3 miles until you see a signpost for the Hermitage. Turn right into ShinyBricks Road and follow road to T-junction. Turn left into Dolcoppice lane. At end of road turn right up “Private road”. Continue uphill (road is bumpy, go slowly) until road levels. At the Hermitage follow the right hand fork up hill, drive through the white gates and continue along the track until you reach the white gates signed Downcourt Farm and Manor.

From East Cowes (Southampton to East Cowes)

When disembarking to straight across at roundabout and follow main road out of Cowes towards Newport for about 3 miles. At main roundabout turn right to Newport. At Newport keep to left on one-way system and take road signposted for Sandown. After nearly 2 miles take turning on right signposted Godshill.(just past Scats the country shop on the right). After 1.5 miles, at Rookley, fork right towards Chale and Niton. Stay on this road for nearly 3 miles until you see signpost for Hermitage. From Yarmouth (Lymington-Yarmouth)

At roundabout turn right over bridge towards Totland and Freshwater. After nearly 3 miles turn left to Freshwater (A3055). Stay on this road through Freshwater and along the coastal road for about 10 miles until you come to Chale. Turn left at Chale church on B3399 through Chale Green for about 3 miles until you come to the main crossroads. Turn right then, after half a mile, turn right at signpost marked Hermitage into ShinyBricks Road. Follow road to T-junction. Turn left into Dolcoppice lane. At end of road turn right up “Private road”. Continue uphill (road is bumpy, go slowly) until road levels. At the Hermitage follow the right hand fork up hill, drive through the white gates and continue along the track until you reach the white gates signed Downcourt Farm and Manor.
